April 9th, 2007 Quiet Time
Wow, spending some time in the Word this very early morning before the mission
. God is so amazing and faithful and strong. I had a tough Easter, but it’s not about me, and the Holy Spirit was right there with me. Spending some time in the Word this morning was so refreshing. The devotional for today talked about being faithful in a little so that God can reveal more of himself to you and give you greater things to be a stewart of. It described how intimacy with God is directly tied to faithfulness. When we are faithful with the little bit God reveals and blesses us with, he is able to give us more and more of himself.
As I reviewed some past devotionals I found one titled “For Her.” It referenced Ephesians 5:22-33 and talked about husbands serving their wives as Jesus Christ does. That it is a privelage and duty for a husband to love and serve his wive. I am very excited for the day I have that privelage and honor to serve my bride
. The devotional ended with a quote that I absolutely adore:
“If you think it’s possible to love your wife too much, you probably haven’t loved her enough.”

March 4th, 2007 Quiet Time
Phillipians 4:6-8
6)Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7)And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8)Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
This encouraged me this morning. We are at the 6month mark now. It is tougher, but even more important to stay focused and sharp. Pray for me to stay focused and lead my men with excellence to the finish line in this race. God bless you and prosper you, I greatly appreciate all your prayers and support.
March 2nd, 2007 Quiet Time
Yesterday there was an amazing thunder storm! Normally I like the storms, but this one scared me. It sounded like the worst mortar attack I have heard yet. I got low and looked outside to see what was going on, but found only the rain, some lightening, and another thunder clap. At first, I was scared, and then irritated that this storm would torment me so. Then as I reflected on it, I realized that as awesome and destructive as a mortar can be my God, my Lord and Savior, is so much bigger. He is in control and he is on my side. “What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31. It was comforting and renewed/refreshed my faith and trust in God for all things.
